    Hometown Plumbing & Heating was founded with the primary focus on residential and small commercial projects. The company had 3 full time employees. The first office was located on Devils Glen Road in Bettendorf, IA.

    Relocated to new facility on 42nd Street in Bettendorf, IA.

  • 1985

    Began offering underground utility repairs and installation along with process piping installation.

  • 1988

    Purchased Thornton Plumbing in Muscatine, IA.

  • 1993

    Mike O’Day took over as President while Hometown celebrated its 10th anniversary.

  • 1998

    Combined the Bettendorf and Muscatine offices into one facility located at 13606 118th Avenue in Davenport, IA.

  • 2003

    Celebrated our 20th anniversary.

  • 2005

    Surpassed 1 million man hours worked without a lost time injury.

  • 2012

    Completed work for the University of Iowa’s 111,000 sq. ft. indoor practice facility, with over 17 miles of radiant heat tubing.

  • 2013

    Awarded the 10-story high-rise, University of Iowa Petersen Residence Hall project while also celebrating our 30th year in business.

  • 2014

    Began offering in-house Mechanical Engineering & Design – Build services, ensuring our ability to direct mechanical contracting projects from conception to completion

  • 2015

    Received the coveted ABC of Iowa State Project of the Year award with the University of Iowa Petersen Residence Hall project.

  • 2017

    Received the ABC National Pyramid Award for our role as mechanical contractor on the Liberty High School project, which was the first new ground-up high school in Iowa over the past 25 years.

  • 2018

    Celebrated our 35th year in business while growing to 90 full-time employees.
